My Source Radio Testimonial Awards: Tools & Training

Anyone who has ever tried to produce testimonials knows that it's harder than it looks. There's a real art to it, but when they're done right, they're incredibly effective at capturing the value and values of public radio in communities. DEI and CPB are gathering a range of tools and training opportunities to help answer questions, stimulate community engagement, and guide the creation of great local production from the broadest range of entrants. Here’s a start:

  1. Register for DEI training webinars on testimonial production May 8 & June 4. (LINK)
  2. Read the Top Ten Tips for incorporating My Source and guidelines for capturing and creating compelling testimonials
  3. Review ”Kissing Frogs," the guide to making testimonials by WKSU/Akron’s Jeff St. Clair.
  4. Find sample My Source testimonials from across the system.
  5. Check out how WUNC in Chapel Hill gathers My Source stories online and hear some My Source spots from the collection of KWMU in St. Louis.

If you know of any other guides to making testimonials, please drop a note to ismarketing@yahoo.com
