My Source

Online

Using your Web site is a flexible and cost-effective way to communicate the My Source message. To this end, we've developed a testimonial tool for use by stations. The tool will allow you to capture and share stories from your listeners and viewers.

Here are some examples of the test stations' online work:

WUNC (Raleigh/Durham, NC)

WUNC used multiple online strategies to solicit, promote and collect My Source testimonials.

  • Recruited listeners to submit testimonials via e-mail and through an online form. In the first two months, WUNC received more than 50 submissions.
  • Encouraged listeners to spread the word about My Source through a “Send to a Friend” link.
  • Highlighted listeners’ stories with photos and audio downloads posted online.
  • Provided podcasts and RSS subscriptions so that listeners could receive automatic downloads of newly posted testimonials.

WFPK, WFPL and WUOL (Louisville, KY)

WFPK – WFPL – WUOL, all sister radio stations administered under one office, collaborated to create an effective mechanism for collecting My Source testimonials. Their effort resulted in more than 60 listener testimonials in about one month.

  • Used free WordPress software to create an online form enabling users to submit text My Source testimonials.
  • Assigned a station staff member to monitor the stories submitted electronically and approve stories to be posted for the public.
  • Posted testimonials online for listeners to read.
