KTOO partnered with Juneau’s Bartlett Regional Hospital on Taking One Step. The program identifies community health concerns and encourages participants to take steps toward greater well-being. Bartlett and KTOO worked with one of Juneau's low-income housing communities, Gruening Park, where 40 percent of the residents are Alaskan Natives. After surveying their baseline health and attending monthly events, interested residents formed a health group and came up with the idea of building a community garden. Following a successful first harvest, the project is expanding to include more families this year.
