With the My Source Community Impact Awards for engagement, WUSF is being recognized for their project, The Amendments 2008: A Florida Matters Special Edition. 
 

Florida is one of 18 states in which voters have the opportunity to place direct initiatives on the ballot. In 2008, six proposed amendments to the state constitution addressed everything from the definition of marriage to property tax exemptions. WUSF had conducted an extensive listening project earlier in the year and learned that local civic leaders and concerned citizens expected the station to provide in-depth, unbiased coverage of local issues. In response, the station produced a series of television, radio and online specials exploring the proposed amendments in detail.
